Playsilks

This section has Sarah's Silks playsilks in three sizes, 53x53 cm, 90x90 cm and 89x178 cm, along with silk capes, wings and other dress-ups. Playsilks are dyed silk cloths for free play, and Waldorf kindergartens and parents buy them.

In Waldorf education, a pre-school child is given toys that they fill with meaning themselves. In play a silk cloth becomes a river, a roof, a king's cloak or a costume, and the next day something else entirely. Silk is light, bright and lovely to touch, and kindergartens also use it for puppet shows and on the season table.
