Candles

The Candles section has Dipam beeswax candles: dipped candles, pillar candles, tealights, honeycomb candles and special candles for festivals and birthdays. There are also candleholders and materials for making your own: beeswax honeycomb sheets and wax pellets with wick. Waldorf kindergartens and schools buy the candles, as do families.

In a Waldorf kindergarten or school, a candle marks the rhythm of the day and the festivals. It is lit before a fairy tale, on the season table and during Advent, when more and more lights are kindled one by one. Beeswax burns calmly and smells of honey. Dipping candles or rolling them from honeycomb sheets is a favourite autumn and winter activity with children.
