Wind instruments

Wind instruments has Choroi pentatonic and diatonic flutes, interval flutes and the alto flute, Auris overtone flutes, Mollenhauer recorders and accessories. Waldorf schools choose them for the whole class, as do music teachers, kindergartens and families.

In a Waldorf school, children begin playing the pentatonic flute in Class 1. The Choroi flute is made of wood, has a gentle tone and needs no strong breath, so the whole class can play together. In the pentatonic scale the notes sound well together in any order, so a child makes music without fear of mistakes. Children learn the diatonic flute and the recorder in later classes.
