Fabrics

Fabrics has materials for sewing and doll making: wool felt, Bioland organic wool felt, wool and rayon felt, cotton tricot, flannel and silk, plus accessories. They are bought by handwork teachers in Waldorf schools, by kindergartens and by doll makers.

In a Waldorf school children sew from the first classes, starting with simple pouches and little felt animals. Felt does not fray at the edges, so it can be cut and sewn without hems. Cotton tricot is the classic material for Waldorf dolls because it is soft and stretchy. Natural fibres give a child a true sense of the material.
